Level 2 Course Description

Students learn navigation (both DR and gps), boat handling, motoring, and maintenance skills related to keelboats. Students must be rated at Level 1 before enrolling because this class assumes that students know how to sail a boat without power prior to beginning work at Level 2. They also must have completed the U.S. Power Squadron Safe Boating/Basic Seamanship class (see prerequisites in class schedule). Shore school consists of over 21 hours of navigation and seamanship, followed by three evenings and two full days of sailing aboard our 28’ keelboats on Lake St. Clair.

Level 2 rated sailors can time share our Level 2 boats out of Jefferson Beach Marina all summer.
