Who is ASI?

The American Sailing Institute (ASI) offers expert sailing instruction at a low cost. ASI also offers ongoing club membership for those with an interest in sailing, with a focus on instruction and skill improvement. Started in the 1960's as part of American Youth Hostels, ASI became a separate organization in 1992.

ASI has no "typical" member. Membership is split by gender, and age ranges from 18 to over 75. These men and women of diverse backgrounds and nationalities share a zest for life - and for sailing!

ASI is a non-profit 501(C)(3) educational organization that offers inexpensive access to sailing through organizational dues, volunteer work hours, and boat donations.
