ASI now has it's own store. Queensboro Shirt Company allowed us to set up our
own store to sell their products. All profits will be sent to ASI on a weekly basis.
We have new logo's and new products including both printed and embroidered items.
You will pay with your own credit card and have the item shipped where ever you
want. You will be dealing with the Queensboro company. I will no longer be buying
things and trying to sell them. I really hope this is a big improvement for you and
our club. It's just in time for Christmas, so please give it a try.

Don Anderson
Category: generalDon Anderson was an engineer at Ford for 35 years before he retired in 2002. Don’s interest in sailing was first inspired as he watched sailboats on Lake Michigan in Chicago as he was growing up. Don has been sailing with ASI and it’s predecessor for 35 years. He has been teaching sailing at Kent Lake and/or Lake St. Clair for about 30 years. He met Linda, his wife, while teaching at Kent Lake. Burgee
Category: general
The Burgee is the weekly and sometimes sooner and at least monthly newsletter of the ASI. Here is a chance to browse the current issue or catch up on past issues.
We'd like the Burgee to be a forum for all sailing matters: your ideas on being a better teacher; new directions for ASI in coming years; thoughts on our keelboat cruising grounds; winter sailing in the Caribbean; your most embarrassing sailing moment; sailing websites you've discovered; and the list goes on. So send us your ideas and articles and we'll run them up the mast.
Note, the Burgees are listed below, if logged in, but there may be issues missing. For a complete archive please contact Don Caley.

Category: generalJohn Blahnik
Category: generalJohn Blahnik joined ASI in 1999. He has been sailing for 35 years beginning from the time he was a Sea Scout on the waters of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is a level IV ASI member, and has been certified Bareboat Cruising through U.S. Sailing Association.
Loving the outdoors, John enjoys travel, skiing and biking with his family. He also enjoys scuba diving; a useful hobby for recovering items that are accidentally dropped off board.
Having lived ten years overseas, he values diversity. ASI embraces this, as the varied background of its members contributes to learning new skills, both on and off the water.
Paul Rossetti
Category: generalPaul Rossetti joined ASI in 2002 with no sailing experience. He had sailed on a charter in Biscayne Bay several years earlier and it had been such a wonderful experience, he knew he really wanted to start sailing. When he ran across an old copy of the ASI mainsheet, he knew he had to join. He achieved Level II this year and has also attained his US Sailing Association small boat certification. Sailing, hiking and travel are his favorite pastimes.
Paul is originally from Pittsburgh, PA (and can’t get rid of the accent). Prior to moving to Detroit 16 years ago, he had lived in New York, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Paul has three adult children and currently lives in White Lake. He enjoys both teaching and learning new things. He has held technical, sales and management positions in the IT industry and is currently a sales executive with IBM. As a board member Paul would like to focus on how to further build ASI camaraderie and community spirit.
